Developer Telltale Games has issued an official apology to the fan base for the delays linked to the second episode of its The Walking Dead series and has promised that the third piece of content will certainly be launched on all platforms during August.

A blog post from the company states, “Although we can’t give you an exact date at this time, we can say that episode three will be ready in the middle of August, and that we and our partners will do all that we can to release all platforms and regions as close together as possible.”

The developers explained that they initially intended to launch one episode a month and admitted that the goal might have been too ambitious for the second episode.

Telltale Games added, ““We’ve been working closely with our phenomenally supportive partners to try to make this a reality. We will continue to work on this and furthermore, we will strive to improve our communication with you so that you know what’s happening.”

“Please rest assured that we are doing all we can to get your game episodes to you as quickly as possible,” he continued.

Starved for Help took two months to launch and those playing the series on the PlayStation 3 had to wait another week.

Telltale Games has revealed that The Walking Dead has been the most successful of its episode-based titles, managing to sell one million copies just with its first batch of content.

I took a Quick Look at The Walking Dead and came away impressed at how well the development team managed to deal with the problems of slotting a new cast of characters into an already very well developed story.

The Walking Dead also delivers more action than other Telltale titles and there are more moral choices that will influence future episodes.
