Hopefully better than the Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter movies

You're probably familiar with the fact that a Tekken movie poster was spotted a while back, but now things have gone official and a couple of audition scripts have surfaced confirming the original information. It seems that in the upcoming motion picture, Jin will be portrayed as a drug addict and he'll have to fight Marshall Law as the story progresses. Among the characters included in Tekken, the movie you'll find familiar faces like King, Mishima, Kazuya, Steve Fox, Gordo, Anna and Nina and many many more.

Since some of the key scenes have been made available we now know that at some point all the important characters will be trying to escape the Mishima complex and one of them will die in the process. Don't worry about spoilers, as I'm not going to reveal any, but I can tell you that the movie will be available in cinemas worldwide starting next year. Maybe the fans of the series have caught a glimpse of the storyline, specially due to their Tekken background.

Till now I've only dealt with one media product related to the Tekken universe, a silly action game which featured Nina and Anna Willams. Its worst feature was the control system that relied on the heavy use of the analog sticks, not for movement, but rather for kicking all of your opponents. Let's hope that we won't be seeing another Uwe Boll-esque "disasterpiece" like Bloodrayne, the movie or a major failure like Street Fighter... Fighting games have a tendency to become boring and silly when they're turned into movies...

Just look at the great Mortal Kombat titles and those lousy movies plus that series that should have never existed. I'm sorry for the fans of those shows, but one can't really compare the quality of the most famous fighting games with what a couple of commercial motion pictures manage to deliver, that is a mixture between cliches and bad acting.
