Japan's AOU 2007 coin-op exhibition was Namco's long waited chance to show their latest Tekken release, Tekken 6, arcade version. They also launched a new website on which there are some screenshots and some information about the game regarding graphics and new coming characters. Also, there will be a rather short trailer and a wallpaper of the two new characters: Leo and Zafina. The game is said to be released some time this year.

Although Tekken 5 didn't have much better visuals than Tekken 4, as some say, it was a big leap for Namco's famous fighting series. If you remember, Tekken 4 was a bit of a disappointment for those who were familiar with a fast-combo-hit fighting game as the gameplay was kind of "heavy," Namco having worked more on the appearance of the game, rather than on gameplay. Tekken 5 on the other hand brought fans exactly what they'd missed, namely fast movement, more combos per character plus special moves, and a very Tekken 3 similar gameplay.

For those who know their Tekken, the 3rd installment had the best visuals, gameplay and fighting simulation yet to be seen and gamers were hooked on it for a long time. Tekken 5 brought that back to them and took graphics, sounds and movement to the limit provided by technology keeping the same fast-combo-hit fighting game spirit.

So, naturally, all hopes are for new characters, new special moves for older favorites like King, Brian, Paul or Hwoarang, and Heihatchi's come-back maybe cause Jin Kazama is getting kind of stale being an undead and all for quite some time now. At least Heihatchi has some ashes to rise from.
