This is one of those things that don't put too much effort into standing out

Quirky, high-end flash drives come out from time to time, but they don't really do much for all the people who just want a random memory stick, so Team Group decided to launch a mid-range USB drive this time.

The product in question is called C123 and is “designed to let everyone enjoy the sensation of USB3.0 at the minimal cost.”

Unfortunately, the press release doesn't actually say what price the product has, so we're left with guesswork as to how convenient it truly is for people.

At any rate, the USB 3.0 interface will make sure that data is read and written at a reasonably fast rate. Even if it doesn't get near the top 5 Gbps potential rate, the C123 should easily outpace USB 2.0 drives.

That said, the look of the newcomer will probably play a large role in how appealing prospective customers will find it.

After all, the number of USB 3.0-capable flash drive units isn't exactly small, so aesthetics matter quite much. Team Group went for a curved cap design “to minimize the possibility of losing such a fine piece of work.“

It also chose colors that fit most human attire: “charming white” and “stylish gray.” The former has some red thrown into the mix too.

As for storage capacity, the C123 comes in 8 GB, 16 GB and 32 GB. In other words, there will be plenty of space for photos, video clips, music files and even full-blown movies.

“The stylish gray is all about a glossy texture and the cool, calm noble fashion, perfect for urban businessmen on the go. Team C123 not only has stylish appearance and extreme speed, but also is the top choice in a time like when the price of everything is skyrocketing. Team Group is here with you for a difficult time like this,” the company says.
