New things for the Scout

Team Fortress 2 is currently one of the most popular online first-person shooters out there, largely due to the fact that it has a big user community, a variety of classes from which to choose and, most importantly, enjoys the full support of the Valve team in terms of patches, updates and new content.

Part of this new content is the very hyped-up Scout update, which will bring new features to the Scout class in the popular online shooter. In honor of the update that has already been launched the TF2 team has made a special website that details each and every part of the update.

In the order in which the new content will be released in the game, the first addition is a new double barreled shotgun called the Force-A-Nature. This sawed-off shotgun promises to give the slim Scout a big boost in power and, if the player jumps while firing the weapon, he will be propelled into the skies, alongside his target. The big power of the new shotgun, which will be unlocked when the player reaches 10 achievements, will come at a hefty price as the Force-A-Nature has a very slow reload rate, which means that the Scout will have to resort to its next unlockable weapon, the Sandman.

This new bat, which the player will unlock when reaching 15 achievements, is accompanied by a baseball, which the player will propel into his enemies and stun them for a certain amount of time, in which the speedy Scout can get some good swings into his body. Also, for that extra power, the Scout will gain, after unlocking 20 achievements, a new energy drink called Bonk! The drink will provide a big boost in energy for Scouts, but with a downside consisting of a lethargic few seconds after the effect wears off.

For all the other players of TF2, four new community maps will be released alongside the Scout updates. Arena_Watchtower, CP_Junction, CP_Egypt and CP_Fastlane can all be played starting today, offering a variety of new things and challenges for all the character classes out there.

Also, as a special treat, Valve is offering a 50-percent discount on Team Fortress 2 if you buy it from the Steam online store, meaning that it currently goes for the low price of just 9.99 Euros.
