Many of you might already know that TealPoint Software is working on a multifuctional application launcher meant to make Palm devices running under the PalmOS platform have the same look as the WebOS has on the Palm Pre handset. The launcher is called TealOS, and we have just learnt that the development team has brought it up to version 1.31 Beta.

The new version comes with a few fixes over the previous, including fixed software home buttons from blocking subsequent app launch if pressed inside TealOS, fixed corrupted background handler if the program entered after a clean initial install and exited without visiting any prefs screens, as well as fixed importing of standard launcher icons from generating duplicates on initial forced scan after clean install.

The TealOS is constantly being updated, and a lot of improvements are added with each new release. Among the fresh features that have been added with the application within the latest releases, we can count support for customizing quick launch bar icons and for customizing wave launcher icons, and the ability to preview background jpeg images before loading them.

Some other features that have been recently added to the TealOS include the automatic filtering out of launcher-x launcher stubs, bouncing anim when trying to discard locked cards with 5-way, the tip suggesting forcing full scan after effects change, as well as improved quick launch bar preferences to preview icon images. Another improvement is connected to the wave preferences to preview icon images.

There are a lot of features that the TealOS multifuctional application launcher is able to provide users with, given the fact that it can deliver the feel and look of Palm's latest handset. Those that have a device running under PalmOS 5 can try the TealOS Beta version 1.31 by downloading it from Softpedia. There is also a stable version, 1.06, which can also be bought.

Those that would like to see how the launcher works, should take a look at the video bellow.
