14 DAY TRIAL // In the wake of her breakup from Jake Gyllenhaal, singer Taylor Swift is being compared to Jennifer Aniston in terms of how (un)lucky she seems to be in love. Moreover, Aniston herself has recently took the time to offer her some encouragement.
The New York Daily News says that, at the recent People's Choice Awards 2011, Aniston went to Taylor to tell her to be strong: she knows too what it's like to have every aspect of her life dissected in the tabloids.
From this, to saying that Swift may be the Aniston of her generation was but a step – and the NY Daily News takes it without as much as a second thought.
Since both are “America's sweethearts,” both are extremely good looking, adorable and yet quite unlucky in staying in a relationship for a bit longer, there may be a connection there, the e-zine says.
“Is Taylor Swift the Jennifer Aniston of her generation?” the NY Daily News asks. It then moves to answer the question: she may very well be, the publication seems to say.
“An insider at Wednesday's People's Choice Awards tells us the notoriously unlucky-in-love Aniston, 41, approached Swift, 21, inside the Nokia Theatre to tell her to 'hang in there' in the face of relentless press about her love life,” the e-zine writes.
“We hear the two had not previously met, but Aniston 'wanted Taylor to know everything will be okay',” says the NY Daily News.
“According to our source, Jen told Taylor to 'go out there and have fun.' We hope they also compared notes about shared ex John Mayer,” the same publication writes.
As fans must know, at different points in the past couple of years, both women were linked to Mayer: while he reportedly dumped Aniston via a press conference, he also broke Taylor's heart, prompting her to come out with the scorching ballad “Dear John.”
Aside from Gyllenhaal and Mayer, Taylor has also been romantically linked to Taylor Lautner. That relationship too ended after just a few months of dating, it is being said.
