Taylor Swift had her heart broken in the whirlwind 2-month romance with Jake Gyllenhaal at the end of last year, but she’s learned her lesson and is now taking her time with her new romantic interest, “TRON: Legacy” star Garrett Hedlund.

The singer and the actor went out on a first date in Nashville the other night and, as per Us Magazine, though they’re really into each other, they’re taking their time.

Taylor, for one, got seriously burned in the Gyllenhaal debacle and she’s not ready to put herself out there again and have her heart broken.

“It was their first time going out,” a source tells the aforementioned celebrity magazine of the dinner date, which took place on April 1 in Nashville, where Taylor is working on a new album.

“They’ve been emailing for a while, and she hinted they should get together,” says the spy.

Admittedly, unlike with Jake, with whom Taylor fell in love on the spot and held nothing back when entering the relationship, this time, she’s not rushing into it.

“Hedlund joined his date at 8 p.m. and was back at his hotel by 12:30 a.m. Swift, 21, is taking things slowly after her fast-track romance and breakup with Jake Gyllenhaal last fall,” Us writes.

It even has confirmation of it from the same unnamed but admittedly reliable spy, who adds that what first attracted Taylor to Garrett is the fact that he seems a “normal” guy.

“She has actually spent time getting to know Garrett. He’s cute – and he’s into country music! [She] likes that he’s a normal guy,” says the spy.

Before Garrett, but also after the Gyllenhaal split, Taylor was linked to “Glee” star Chord Overstreet, with whom she even went public on what was believed to be their first date, at a game in LA.

At the 2011 Academy Of Country Music Awards, Gyllenhaal was the target of a gay joke by the co-hosts, who said that’s the only reason possible why he’d ever dump Taylor, as we also reported the other day.
