These days, Brad Pitt says it’s all about being a father and less being a star – and, clearly, few could actually hold that against him when he has such a lovely brood (and Angelina Jolie) waiting at home. There is one person, though, who got to see the downside to Pitt’s life as a father, and that is director Quentin Tarantino, who recently told David Letterman the actor slept a lot on the set of his latest film, “Inglourious Basterds.”

Tarantino was never the man to keep a secret or, for that matter, something that might be potentially embarrassing (as we all learned yesterday) to himself. Doing Letterman’s show, the famed director revealed that, no matter how much Brad boasted about his happy family life, the downside was that he was often too exhausted to keep his eyes open, which was exactly what also happened on the “Basterds” set. Still, working with him was a “blast,” Tarantino conceded.

“He’s a blast. There is that old adage: You treat actors like stars and you treat stars like actors. And it actually works out really good that way. But one of the things that’s kind of funny is we try to… usually, discourage sleeping on the set, alright, it can happen from time to time… But… because Brad has a big family at home… sleeping on the set is the only time he gets to sleep.” Tarantino told Letterman.

Speaking of sets, in a separate interview, the director also revealed that Pitt might soon return to “Basterds” for a prequel. As usual, one step ahead of everything, Tarantino has already begun to work on the script for a prequel to the Nazi-centered story, a script that he plans to bring to the big screen on the condition that “Basterds” fares well at the box-office and with the public. Moreover, he says, several members of the cast have already accepted to star in the second movie as well, such as Eli Roth.

“I’ve gotten some of it written already. A lot of the actors would really like to do it. If the movie proves to be very popular, then we’ll do it.” Tarantino said at the premiere of the film in New York, as cited by GateCrasher. Eli Roth, on the other hand, is almost certain a prequel will happen, gushing out about it to reporters. “It’s about my character and Brad’s character in Italy. We’ve already signed up – we told Quentin we absolutely want to do it. On set, we’d be like, ‘Do a prequel!’ and Brad would be yelling ‘Prequel!’ in between takes.” Roth says, as per the same publication.
