Take-Two Interactive, the publisher for successful Rockstar titles like Grand Theft Auto or Read Dead Redemption, has just revealed that it won't start to "annualise" its most important franchises, just to earn a quick profit.

The company's chairman, Strauss Zelnick, revealed that his company, even if it didn't have a lot of big blockbuster franchises, wouldn't turn to releasing a new game every year, like Activision is doing with its Call of Duty first person shooter franchise.

Instead, Zelnick says that it will allow Rockstar Games, the developer of those big franchises, the same liberty it did up until now, and the subsidiary will continue to work on its blockbuster titles as it sees fit.

The Take-Two boss also shared his company's insight into digital and mobile sales, saying that as of right now, it accounts for 10 percent of the total revenue.

Zelnick does reveal that "over time" he hopes that it will reach around 25 to 30 percent of total revenue.

"I still think in five years the packaged goods business will dominate," said Zelnick, who will add the title of chief executive officer on January 1. "It's kind of irrelevant to us -- basically the same gross margin, basically the same risk."

Zelnick chimed in on his company's deal with Major League Baseball, saying that he will be re-evaluating the terms of the deal, in order to make it more profitable.

"It's a losing proposition and we don't have any interest in pursuing losing propositions."

Rockstar's next big upcoming project is L.A. Noire, and after that you can expect a new Gran Theft Auto, a sequel to Red Dead Redemption, as well as the PlayStation 3 exclusive Agent.

Would you like Take-Two to push Rockstar in order to release new titles like GTA or Red Dead Redemption every year?
