Windows Phone 7, the mobile operating system that Redmond-based software giant Microsoft brought to the market in October last year, has just got sweeter in Canada on the airwaves of TELUS.

The mobile phone carrier has slashed the price tags for two of its Windows Phone 7 devices to only $29.99 upon the signing of a three-year contract agreement and, just as expected, added into the mix a new and free Xbox 360.

The new promotion starts today and should last until March 20th, while requiring users to commit to a contract on a Clear Choice voice and data rate plan of $50 or higher.

Here's what the wireless carrier notes on the special page it put up on its website for this promotion:

“Offer available March 4 - 20, 2011 while quantities last. For consumer clients who purchase either an HTC 7 Surround or LG Optimus 7 and activate or renew in Ontario, Quebec or the Atlantic provinces on a 3 year term with a Clear Choice voice and data rate plan of $50 or greater.

The Windows Phone device must still be active and the account in good standing after 14 days from activation. Offer is available only in TELUS authorized dealers, Corporate stores and online website. Offer is available on consumer accounts only.”

At the same time, the mobile phone carrier announced that the new offering is not available through retail locations like Future Shop, Best Buy, and the like.

Whether it comes to purchasing a new HTC 7 Surround or LG Optimus 7 from the wireless carrier, customers would still get their new Xbox 360 at the address they mentioned when setting up their TELUS account.

“Once your Xbox 360 has shipped, we'll send you a confirmation email and tracking details,” the company notes on the said web page, adding that the free Xbox 360 should arrive at users' door steps within up to six weeks since receiving the email confirmation.
