Wireless services provider T-Mobile has just announced the launch of myTouch 4G Slide, the latest 4G smartphone included in the carrier's myTouch series of devices.

The new myTouch 4G Slide runs under Google's Android operating system, features a sliding design and what the carrier says to be the most advanced camera of a smartphone, and should arrive on shelves as soon as July.

The wireless carrier notes that the camera in the new device comes with zero shutter lag, backside illuminated sensor and with a series of other features that would make the handset a great option over digital point-and-shoot cameras.

The new T-Mobile myTouch 4G Slide also comes with support for the operator's high-speed 4G network, currently available in a number of over 190 markets.

The new mobile phone offers users not only the possibility to connect to the wireless carrier's fast network, but also to take high-resolution photos and to share them with friends and family effortless over 4G.

“Knowing that the best camera is the one you’ve got with you, we set out to create a new best-in-class smartphone that allows our customers to leave their cameras at home,” said Andrew Sherrard, senior vice president, marketing, T-Mobile USA.

“Our newest myTouch device takes capturing and sharing memories to a new level by combining high-quality smartphone hardware with features that customers would expect from a top-of-the-line digital camera.”

The new device was manufactured by HTC, and sports high-end hardware specification and capabilities, starting with the 1.2GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor inside it, and going all the way to the high-quality camera mentioned above.

The T-Mobile myTouch 4G Slide sports a 3.7-inch WVGA super LCD touch-screen display, with a slide-out full-QWERTY keyboard hidden beneath it, and runs under Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) with the HTC Sense 3.0 UI loaded on top of it.

The new handset will arrive on shelves in two colors, black and khaki, and should arrive in July at all T-Mobile retail stores, online on the carrier's website, as well as via select national retailers and dealers. It will cost $199 on contract.
