The solution might arrive in June

Android-based T-Mobile myTouch 3G is expected to soon receive a software update that will make it even more appealing than it is at the moment. The said update should include the Android 2.1 operating system, which is being released for more handsets in the US, and the same upgraded users interface that should land on the market as soon as myTouch 3G Slide is released.

The wireless carrier reportedly spent a lot of money customizing the HTC Sense UI to fit with the upcoming slider, and it seems that it plans on offering first generation myTouch 3G owners the possibility to benefit from this investment too. Andrew Sherrard, the VP of Production Innovation for T-Mobile, recently told Techland that the upgrade was being prepared for the myTouch 3G, and that vanilla Android UI would be modified through it so as to match the Espresso UI found on the upcoming Slide.

Since the T-Mobile myTouch 3G Slide is set to become available for purchase sometime in June, the word on the street is that the update for the original myTouch 3G would follow this launch. One thing that is certain is that T-Mobile's customers owning a myTouch 3G will soon be able to enjoy an enhanced experience on their handsets.

The move comes as a surprise in a way considering the fact that Google was said to be in charge with the software solutions delivered to the G1 and myTouch 3G. Even if T-Mobile decided to push the Sense solution to them, the two phones are expected to remain stock Android devices, androidandme notes.

One way or the other, the good news is that the T-Mobile myTouch 3G will receive a software update, offering its users the chance to enjoy new features and improved functionality on their handsets. Unfortunately, no details on whether the solution will be delivered to G1 users have emerged yet.
