HTC unveiled its new Touch Pro2 at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona last month, and, while already rumored to make its way to the US market, it seems that the handset is expected to come to the lineup of T-Mobile. In addition, it seems that the mobile phone operator will have the device ready for release sometime in May.

For the time being, this is just a rumor, yet a user at XDA Developers has unveiled an HTC Touch Pro2 that sports a T-Mobile Branded ROM, and it seems to be a genuine one. This contradicts previous rumors according to which the handset would actually come to the US market on AT&T's airwaves.

The Touch Pro2 includes some 3G frequencies that are usually reserved for AT&T, and the normal conclusion is that this carrier will have the mobile phone in its lineup. Considering that T-Mobile will receive the handset first, we might also be able to see it added to AT&T's offering, only that it will take a while before that happens.

We already talked a little about the handset, but here are some of the features the aforementioned user stated that the device should come with. The HTC Touch Pro2 will be powered by a 528 MHz processor, coupled with 512MB ROM and 288 MB RAM, while sporting a display able to provide a 480 x 800 pixel resolution.

The mobile phone is also expected to include Video Out, a-GPS capabilities, Wi-Fi connectivity, Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR, as well as a 3.1-megapixel photo snapper that would feature video recording capabilities. In addition, a secondary VGA camera that would allow for video calls to be made might also be included with the device, though it would be rather unlikely for T-Mobile. As reported before, the Touch Pro2 should also run under the Windows Mobile 6.5 operating system.
