Last week, HTC made the headlines mainly due to the launch of two new mobile phones, the HTC Touch Pro2 and HTC Touch Diamond2, which were unveiled at the Mobile World congress in Barcelona along with a new G phone, the HTC Magic. While displaying the new handsets at the mobile show, the phone maker also released a software update for the older HTC Touch Pro device.

According to the company, all HTC Touch Pro users are able to download the new updated ROM. At the same time, the phone maker also announced that the new software had been released with support for the following languages: English (Pan Europe and UK), Italian, Dutch, German, French, Finnish, Portuguese and Spanish.

Among the improvements the new ROM brings, the company included: - The display of TouchFLO 3D sometimes may appear cracked - When taking a picture, the auto focus function may malfunction in some circumstances - In some circumstances, the preview screen will become black after taking picture - In some circumstances, the device may hang while loading TouchFLO 3D - When hanging up a phone call, there may be a delay in the display response

At the same time, the mobile phone maker also announced users that they should check for the software version that was currently installed on their devices before proceeding to install the newer ROM. At the same time, users need to know that after installing this update any settings that the phone operator has provided will be lost.

Those interested in performing the upgrade should back up all data on their handsets before proceeding, since this generic update will swipe the device clean. The update will be performed while the device is connected to a PC and is stated to take up to 30 minutes. The update process shouldn't be interrupted until it is completed. The new updated ROM can be found on the company's website.
