HTC Corporation, a leading developer of mobile phones, unveiled today at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona two new flagship devices, namely the HTC Touch Diamond2 and HTC Touch Pro2. The new handsets include both simplicity and style, complemented by an intuitive user interface, being able to provide a combination of function, form and cutting-edge technology to leverage the mobile Internet experience.

“The HTC Touch Pro2 and HTC Touch Diamond2 introduce a mobile communication experience that simplifies how we communicate with people in our lives whether through voice, text or email,” Peter Chou, president and CEO, HTC Corp, said. “HTC is delivering the latest, cutting-edge sophistication in a broad portfolio of mobile phones that improve how people live, work and communicate.”

Both devices come with the company's latest TouchFLO 3D interface, which has been better integrated into a customized version of Windows Mobile 6.1 so as to deliver more consistency while surfing through the platform's applications and menus. The new UI is focused on rendering the navigation more easy and brings quick access to people, messaging, email, photos, music and weather directly to the top-level user interface.

The new HTC Touch Diamond2 comes with a large 3.2-inch high-resolution wide-screen VGA display, while boasting a 13.7mm thick design. At the same time, the handset includes a new touch-sensitive zoom bar for Web pages, emails, text messages, photos, or documents.

The device brings a people-centric communication approach and HTC’s new Push Internet technology, while also offering an enhanced touch experience. More features include a 5-megapixel camera, expandable memory, gravity sensor, as well as ambient light sensor in a design that doesn't sacrifice size, looks, or functionality.

The HTC Touch Pro2 has been designed to prove a great option for business professionals. It features a unique style and strength, while also leveraging the productivity experience. The handset comes with a 3.6-inch widescreen VGA display, a finger-friendly QWERTY keyboard, expandable memory, gravity, proximity and ambient light sensors, a touch-sensitive zoom bar and improved battery life. At the same time, the device also includes HTC’s TouchFLO 3D, people-centric communication and Push Internet technology, as well as the company’s new Straight Talk technology that offers an integrated email, voice and speakerphone experience.

The new HTC products have been designed to deliver a new people-centric communication approach, delivering the individual conversation history of contacts no matter if it is voice, text, or email. Users can see the history either from the contact card or from the in-call screen while chatting with their contacts, having at hand the latest communication contact-by-contact at all times.

HTC’s Push Internet technology included in the new HTC Touch Diamond2 and HTC Touch Pro2 handsets is meant to leverage the Internet experience of any user, while also making it easier. The new technology is able to speed the downloading and rendering of Web pages on the phones. In addition, individuals are enabled to select favorite websites to get instant access to them.

The company has announced that the new HTC Touch Diamond2 will hit the European and Asian markets at the beginning of the second quarter of the year, while the Touch Pro2 will be made available on major global markets as soon as the summer comes.
