HTC Desire, one of the hottest mobile phones launched on the market during the ongoing year with Google's Android 2.1 operating system on board, is about to receive a software update in the UK on T-Mobile's network.

The wireless carrier announced last month that it should start delivering the new software solution to Desire owners out there in September, and it seems that it is expecting for the the final approvals to start the roll-out process.

“Hi Tim, if you follow us we put out tweets to let everyone know about update releases. It will be this month,” the wireless operator responded on Twitter to a question about the Android 2.2 update for HTC Desire.

According to a recent article on EuroDroid, the wireless carrier also unveiled the fact that the software update is currently awaiting for approval from Google, and it should not be too long before it can offer an official release date for the solution.

The Android 2.2 update for the HTC Desire has started to be rolled-out in Europe since last month, but only to unlocked units on the market, it seems.

The same as it previously happened with the HTC Hero, the carrier branded flavors of the mobile phone did not receive the software solution at the same time as the unlocked devices.

However, various operators in the UK already committed to delivering Android 2.2 for their Desire owners, and it seems that T-Mobile won't let its users down.

With Vodafone already deploying the update and with Orange getting ready to make the same move, it was expected that T-Mobile would also gear up for making the move.

The new OS version should offer appealing enhancements to Android enthusiasts out there, including a nice range of performance improvements.

One of the main new features of the OS is the Adobe Flash Player 10.1 solution it should pack, which enables a richer web browsing experience on mobile phones.
