Wireless carrier T-Mobile UK has just added a new mobile phone to its offering, the Android-based Samsung Galaxy Apollo, which is now available for purchase from the carrier for free on a plan starting at £20 per month, including Internet Booster. The new mobile phone made it to the headlines quite a few times before, and already landed on the market in the UK, via wireless carrier Orange.

“Stay connected in style with the Samsung Galaxy Apollo. Samsung's social hub displays all your emails, texts, social networking updates and photos of one person in one stream and it's pre-loaded with Facebook, Layar, YouTube and MySpace apps,” T-Mobile UK has to say on this handset.

Since this is a Samsung mobile phone and since it runs under Android, one solution that was actually expected to be included into the mix is there, namely the Swype keyboard, offering users the possibility to type much faster than before.

The specifications list of this device also includes a 3.2-inch touchscreen display, as well as a 3-megapixel photo snapper with digital zoom, and A-GPS.

“The 3.2" vivid bright colour touchscreen will give you a superb view of your photos, videos and websites, and you can whiz around the internet thanks to HSDPA and WiFi,” the carrier says.

The Android-based device also includes MP3 player and FM radio, 3.5mm audio jack, and microSD memory card slot for additional storage space to be added into the equation, with a 1GB card included in the package.

Users can also download and install a great deal of applications on this device via the Android Market, while being able to take advantage of its capabilities both for entertainment and work.

“Sync your work and personal emails and view PDFs and edit documents on the move, so you can do work stuff wherever you are,” the company notes.

The Samsung Galaxy Apollo measures 114 x 55 x 13mm and weighs in at 109 grams. Its battery can offer up to 7 hours of talk time, or up to 510 hours of standby time.

The new Android-based Samsung Galaxy Apollo can be purchased from T-Mobile UK's website here.
