For customers who didn't get the chance to take advantage of T-Mobile's Web-only promo for the G2 Android-based smartphone, online retailer Car Toys is offering the same deal by selling the G2 for only $49.99, after a $50 T-Mobile upgrade rebate.

Apparently, T-Mobile's offer was available for just 1 day and only on its online store. It looks like the price of the G2 is now back up to $199.99 with a two-year contract. The reasons behind the decision are still unknown at the moment, as no official announcements were made prior to the promotion.

The Car Toys offer also includes a FREE 2-DAY SHIPPING promo bonus, but requires customers to be eligible for an upgrade if they want to buy the G2 smartphone.

Customers qualify for the upgrade offer if they are out of contract and/or paying month to month with their current carrier.

Customers who are in the last two months of their contracts are also eligible for this offer.

T-Mobile G2 is powered by a Qualcomm MSM 7230 800 MHz processor and runs on Android OS 2.2 Froyo platform.

The Android smartphone comes with a 3.7-inch TFT capacitive touchscreen with 16M colors support and 480x800 pixels resolution, slide-out QWERTY keyboard, accelerometer sensor for UI auto-rotate, Swype text input, multi-touch input method and optical trackpad.

Other key features of the device include: HSDPA 14.4 Mbps, HSUPA 2 Mbps, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n connectivity, 3.5 mm audio jack, microUSB port, 4 GB storage, 512 MB RAM, microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB, 8GB card included), Bluetooh 2.1 with A2DP support, as well as GPS with A-GPS support.

It also sports a 5-megapixel camera with autofocus, LED flash, geo-tagging, as well as video recording capabilities (720p).

T-Mobile G2 is powered by a 1300mAh Li-Ion battery, which was rated by the carrier for up to 9 hours and fifty minutes of talk time (6 hours and forty minutes for 3G network), or 430 hours of standby.
