All phones for free, activation fees removed

Wireless carrier T-Mobile USA is getting ready for a special day on June 19. Tomorrow, all the handsets in its offering will be available for free upon their purchase with a family plan. The carrier has already announced officially its plans for this Saturday, and now we have the chance to learn about them once again, via a TV commercial the carrier has just put in place.

The first time we learned about the offering was from the leaked script for this TV ad. In case it caught your attention at that time, you can have a look at the actual thing now, embedded at the bottom of this story. Nothing new is said here, since we already know that all handsets would be free, including the HTC HD2, the myTouch 3G Slide, and others.

However, a rather interesting piece of information comes from The Shack (aka Radio Shack), which says that it too will have all these phones for free, without asking for the signing of a new contract agreement on a family plan. Of course, committing to a service agreement is not out of the equation, but the good news is that customers would be able to choose other plans as well.

All the phones available for free at The Shack tomorrow will come with a line at T-Mobile, which means that those interested in getting a new device from Magenta have now more options to get that handset for free. Whether we’re talking about a myTouch Slide, a Garminfone, an HD2 or a Nokia device, they are all put on sale at the same price tag.

Moreover, androinica reports that those who will choose to get their new, free device from The Shack will be able to do so while benefiting from free activation too. A $35 account credit will be offered to all those who will make the move (the activation is covered this way), and all rebates are instant. One thing that is certain is that T-Mobile and its partners do know how to celebrate this year's Father’s Day.
