A new flavor of popular predictive text input software Swype is now available for download on devices running under Google's Android operating system, namely Swype 3.0 Beta. The new application flavor comes with a load of enhancements included into the mix, some of the most important ones being Tap Correction or Horizontal Word Choice List (HWCL).

However, these are not the only improvements the software brings, as there are also features like the inclusion of support for tablet PCs powered by Android 3.0 Honeycomb or extended licensing, as well as bug fixes, behavior changes, and other updates that will make users rejoice.

The new software release comes with automatic tap correction enabled by default, but users can control word suggestions from the settings screen, with options that include automatic correction, or displaying of suggestions.

Swype 3.0 Beta offers support for tablet PCs running under Honeycomb with a customized layout and new features, such as movable keyboard, and more.

One thing that should be mentioned here is that the new software release is not meant for devices that came with Swype pre-loaded. The development team notes that the beta version won't work on them.

The complete changelog for the new Swype 3.0 Beta includes:

- Swype v3 introduces two major new features: Tap Correction and Horizontal Word Choice List - Our Tap Correction engine utilizes many of the concepts that make swyping so accurate. Seamlessly go from typing to swyping and back without missing a beat! - The Horizontal Word Choice List replaces our popup word choice window, giving users an experience more in-line with evolving Android standards. It also makes dictionary control and word selection faster and easier. - Swype v3 is available for devices with HVGA, WVGA, FWVGA, QVGA, WQVGA, WSVGA, qHD screen sizes - Introducing a special Honeycomb-only WXGA version for Android tablets, with features like “moveable keyboard” that you won't find anywhere else! - To see which languages are supported on your device, check the language and resolution table - Improved licensing: Swype will no longer be disabled after a reboot on some devices; added support for devices that don't have a cellular radio (wifi-only tablets); no more license failures for CDMA devices in airplane mode.

The new release of the software also comes with support for more devices, with all products running under Google's Android 2.3 Gingerbread or above being supported, the development team notes.

Swype 3.0 Beta was designed to no longer fail to license after reboot. Moreover, the software will continue to work even when the CDMA device it is loaded on is in Airplane Mode.
