Capcom might be getting ready to officially announce that it is creating a Super edition of Street Fighter IV, which might be arriving on the desks of gamers at some point next year. Proof comes courtesy of a German website that has posted a picture that appears to be showing T. Hawk being played in a Street Fighter IV-looking videogame.

Of course, it might just be a doctored photo employing the power of Photoshop to deceive gamers, but there have been other hints over the last couple of weeks pointing to the potential announcement. The company's Twitter feed also specifically mentioned Monday as a date for it.

The Japanese language Capcom blog has been saying that fans of the company should be getting ready for a big announcement and while Mad Catz unveiled a new set of controllers for Street Fighter IV that does not qualify as huge news for the players of the fighting game.

There have also been some hints dropped by the development team earlier, when they said they had a couple of characters, among them T. Hawk, which were ready to be included in the initial release of Street Fighter IV but did not make the cut because the team feared of cluttering the game with too many playable characters.

The image also seems to show a big S under the logo of Street Fighter IV, which lends some weight to the idea that a Super version of the game will be created. Capcom has a long history of iterating on each Street Fighter release, putting out new games that keep the same game engine while tweaking the rules governing the fight while also introducing new playable characters culled from the long history of the series.

Let's hope that Capcom does not disappoint and that before Monday is over, we'll have an official announcement from the videogame developer.
