Forgotten hit at E3 2006, Super Paper Mario does in fact exist. Intelligent Systems had a hybrid for this on Nintendo GameCube. The studio of Advance Wars and Fire Emblem are the ones behind the title and soon after the E3 2006 presentation, Nintendo stopped providing information concerning any aspect of the game, leaving assumptions to be made.

It was thought to have been moved to Wii or simply canceled and the first assumption was the right one. Nintendo stated last time that the game is in fact a Wii title.

The popular video game character created by the company Nintendo, titular hero of numerous successful video games, made Mario Nintendo's mascot and the protagonist of the company's most successful video game series. With over 193 million units sold, Mario is not only Nintendo's most successful franchise, but the most successful video game series of all times.

Mario is considered the most well-known video game character in the world. In 2005, he was honored with a star on the Walk of Game.

Snack News provides some information on the date of launch and what it's all about, so according to their sources, it is coming in April, with a standard control scheme that will make more and more use of the Wii Remote as the game progresses, and even some improvements have been made concerning graphics.

So, naturally "the show must go on" with an additional 2D platform game for Nintendo's Wii. Super Paper Mario, once thought to have vanished from Nintendo's list of titles is now a Wii certainty. The guys at Nintendo really like to stay in the dark and then make a big entrance.
