A work of paranoia on forums or just a joke from Nintendo?

While checking out the latest gaming news, my eyes were instantly drawn to the word "gay" since it was next to the name of a pretty famous title, Super Mario Galaxy. According to a couple of community blogs if you check out the game title's artwork you'll see that it spells "UR MR GAY". In case you don't believe me, there's a picture on the left side of the article and you'll only have to search for those starry letters.

There's not one single other letter with a star underneath it, so it seems that the message is true. Of course, it could be one great coincidence, as Nintendo wouldn't risk its long-running franchise just to send a discriminatory message to the gaming community. Homosexuality has been accepted and there's really no problem with it in the gaming universe, as we've even witnessed boys from Rockstar's Bully kissing each other.

I'm not a teen any more, but I've heard teenage boys and girls using the word "gay" nowadays as a synonym for "uncool". Are there any gamers out there who call someone "gay" just for playing Super Mario Galaxy in the age of Halo 3? Yes, I think there are, but they're surely not Nintendo employees, as the people who create media content are not allowed to show their beliefs and concepts if they involve discrimination.

See? That's what happens when your game features a long title... If you name your game by using a long phrase, you'll not only frustrate gamers and video game store keepers, but you'll also make game fans start searching for various hidden messages. In the case of a famous game, like Mario everyone's still looking for a hidden level, an extra bonus, a hidden message and God knows what else. The reason? People get bored while waiting for titles like NFS ProStreet or Assassin's Creed.
