BioWare has just detailed the array of changes that will be made to the Crew Skill system in Star Wars: The Old Republic once the major update 1.2 is released.

Star Wars: The Old Republic is now quite popular among online gamers, but BioWare wants to make the experience even more pleasant by releasing all sorts of updates and patches that solve issues and add new features.

The next major update is 1.2, named Legacy, which brings improvements not just to the Legacy feature, as its title suggests, but also to a variety of other areas.

BioWare Principal Lead Combat Designer Georg Zoeller has detailed the array of changes that will be made to the Crew Skill system once patch 1.2 becomes available.

“Since the launch of Star Wars: The Old Republic, the Crew Skill system has been incredibly popular,” Zoeller said. “Every week in-game, 52 million items are produced or harvested, 4.5 million item mods are installed and more than 35 million items change hands. Players actively participating in the Crew Skill system are generally better geared and have more credits in the bank than pure consumers.”

“That said, we still believe the Crew Skills can be made better,” he added, before unveiling the lengthy array of changes that are coming to this system of Star Wars: The Old Republic.

Quite a lot of these modifications relate to professions, including Armormech, Armstech, Artifice, Biochem, Cybertech, or Synthweaving.

What’s more, Reverse Engineering will be much more efficient with the arrival of the future update, as the chances of successfully researching a schematic by reverse engineering a product will be increased.

Last but not least, the droids, specifically the Republic’s C2-N2 or the Empire’s 2V-R8, will be improved through a variety of ways and will now be able to receive gifts and tokens of appreciation.
