Available for various Sprint handsets

Mobile phone carrier Sprint recently announced that it was getting ready to offer college basketball fans a simple way to keep up with scores and highlights directly on their mobile phones, as the Brackets are set, and teams are starting to tip-off. According to the company, there are thousands of applications available for users, which can be downloaded on almost any device, but there are also a series of software solutions created specifically for college basketball fans.

[ADMARk=1]Some of the apps highlighted by the wireless carrier include: - College Basketball Live – get play-by-play for all games, breaking news and live scores. Available in the Android Market for HTC Hero with Google and Samsung Moment with Google customers. - College SuperFans – access to up-to-the minute scores, schedules, news and live game results for Palm Pre and Palm Pixi users. Coming soon to the Android Market and BlackBerry App World. - Sports Calendar – never miss a game with this app. Once you find the tip-off time, you can add it to the calendar on your Palm Pre or Palm Pixi. - ScoreMobile for BlackBerry – the number one sports app in the BlackBerry App World catalog offering up-to-the-minute scores, stats, live blogs, original video content, previews and top stories to BlackBerry users.

At the same time, the wireless operator also notes that it has recently unveiled the availability of ESPN Mobile TV on Sprint TV, and that users will enjoy coverage during March and April, with over 100 live events. There is also an ESPN Mobile app available on most of Sprint handsets, which will offer access to sports news, information, commentary, analysis, and more. Not to mention that users can also access mobile version of various news sites, including CBS Sports, Yahoo! Sports, Fox Sports and SI.com.

A series of other solutions are also available for Sprint's customers, including wireless games and trivia apps, such as Mini Shot Basketball and March Madness Mascot Quiz. The former can be downloaded from the Android Market or from the BlackBerry App World, while the latter is available only for Android users.
