Wireless carrier Sprint, the first operator in the US to offer 4G services to its users, says that small businesses can now benefit from more options when it comes to these offerings, when compared to those available on 3G networks, in addition to the great speed boost delivered by WiMAX. On 4G, all things move faster, including email, file downloads, application streaming, web-browsing and more.

According to the wireless carrier, small businesses choosing 4G services from Sprint will benefit from videoconferencing and video streaming without lags, not to mention that they will also be able to opt for bundles of data that fit their needs. On Thursday, the carrier introduced 4G Mobile Broadband Connection plans, which start at $44.99 per month, and which are aimed at small businesses with one to five employees or more than six employees.

Sprint 4G is about offering high speed and high capacity at a low cost – especially to small businesses on a budget,” Tom Shaughnessy, director-Small Business, commented on the launch of these new plans. “Sprint’s 3G and 3G/4G data plans are priced with value in mind – so 4G customers get the data capacity they need at a price that works.” Sprint 4G is currently available in 32 markets in the US, and should arrive in many more before the end of the ongoing year, including Boston, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Denver, Kansas City, Los Angeles, Miami, Minneapolis, New York, Pittsburgh, Salt Lake City, San Francisco, St. Louis and Washington, D.C.

In addition to the new plans, Sprint also touts the benefits of various devices available on its airwaves for small businesses. In June, the carrier will launch the HTC EVO 4G, which boasts both 3G and 4G connectivity options, while packing a 4.3-inch screen, and being powered by a 1GHz Snapdragon processor. Other solutions available from Spring include the Overdrive 3G/4G Mobile Hotspot, the Sprint U301 USB Device, the MiFiTM 2200 by Novatel Wireless, or the AirCard 402 by Sierra Wireless.

“Small businesses have sophisticated needs – the same as businesses 10 times their size,” said Shaughnessy. “Our small business customers tell us that embracing technology is a dollars-and-cents decision. It’s all about working faster, boosting productivity, cutting costs, and, ultimately, improving profits. For small businesses, 4G makes sense.” The new offerings Sprint put in place for small businesses can be seen on the carrier's website here.
