Although Sprint's mobile subscribers already knew (or hoped) that HTC's Touch Diamond and Touch Pro Pocket PCs would be coming soon via their carrier, no official details were revealed until now. Today, the third largest North American carrier has finally confirmed that the handsets will be available for its users. Moreover, Sprint has also come up with press photos and pricing details.

The Touch Diamond and Touch Pro are built by HTC to resemble one another, yet they have slightly different targets. Both handsets are running on Windows Mobile 6.1 and feature HTC's latest TouchFlo 3D User Interface. However, the Touch Diamond is a touchscreen-only slim Pocket PC, while the Touch Pro packs a full QWERTY sliding keyboard.

HTC Touch Diamond's features (besides the ones already mentioned) include: a 2.8 inch TFT touchscreen display with a VGA resolution (480 x 640 pixels), accelerometer, a 3.15 auto focus camera, GPS, Wi-Fi and full HTML browser, email and Instant Messaging, Sprint Music Store and Sprint TV, 4GB of internal memory (not expandable unfortunately) and so on.

Sprint will begin selling the Touch Diamond this month (September), but an exact release date was not given. The handset's price will start at $249.99, after a a $100 mail-in rebate – a two-year contract agreement is required.

If you're interested in finding out more about the Touch Diamond, feel free to read its Softpedia Review, found at this address (however, note that the device reviewed is the GSM version of the Diamond, while Sprint will be selling its CDMA version).

HTC Touch Pro brings all the goodies packed into the above-presented handset but trades its 4GB non-expandable internal memory for a microSD and microSDHC-based one (a 1GB card is included in the package). Also, as I already said, the Touch Pro brings a 5-row QWERTY keyboard that will surely be of great help to those who send lots of messages and emails while on the go.

Sprint's HTC Touch Pro is scheduled to be out on October 19, for $299.99 (also with a contract for two years and after a 100 USD mail-in rebate).
