Sprint has been doing really great lately, at least when it comes to announcing new products and services. After introducing HTC's Touch Diamond and Touch Pro (plus several other new handsets) and launching the novice-friendly Ready Now service, the third largest mobile carrier in the US has now come up with yet another novelty.

Called Sprint Plan Optimizer and presented as a Web based self-service tool, this new offering will allow mobile users to better check out "their own wireless usage trends." By doing this, customers should be able to determine if the contract agreement / data plan they are currently using is the best one for them. It might turn out that Sprint has a better plan for their needs, so the Plan Optimizer is now available to point this out to them.

Besides providing an in-depth and detailed view of your plan, the latest Sprint service also brings:

– the ability to change your billing-history range;

– average usage patterns for monthly voice minutes, data and text messaging;

– monthly overage charges (when applicable);

– links to your monthly invoices;

– the best two plan recommendations (side-by-side comparisons with your current plan included).

Talking about the new online service, Mike Cooley, vice president of Sprint's Online Business, stated, "We continue to tell our customers that they'll see more new products, policies and services that will help to improve their customer experience and the Sprint Plan Optimizer is yet another tool that will help us deliver on that goal. Sprint Plan Optimizer increases customer confidence by telling them if they're on the right wireless service plan or not. It also helps customers who are uneasy about extra charges on their bill, aren't confident that they have the best plan, or may have changed their usage habits."

To see what the Sprint Plan Optimizer is capable of, just visit the North American carrier's website. Apparently, the service is free of charge as long as you're a Sprint customer.
