Android enthusiasts looking for bargains may want to consider the following deal. The “soon to be discontinued” HTC EVO View 4G is now available for purchase for only $229.99 (175 EUR).

The deal is available for a limited time (1 day) via Daily Steals and also includes “Friday Free Shipping” for those who purchase the tablet. There’s also a limit of 1 tablet per order.

The HTC EVO View 4G is usually available for a suggested retail price of $739.99 (565 EUR), but Daily Deals offers a 69% discount on the tablet’s retail price.

The EVO View 4G does not feature support for GSM voice communication, SMS and MMS, instead it comes with 4G support for Sprint’s network.

In addition, the tablet still runs Android 2.4 Gingerbread, but HTC already announced Honeycomb is available for the HTC Flyer in some regions.

It’s unclear if Sprint will bother pushing the Honeycomb update to all HTC EVO View 4G units or it will simply “discontinue” the slate by year’s end.

That would be unfortunate for customers who already paid loads of money for this Gingerbread tablet that cannot match the performance and capabilities of other larger tablets that are much cheaper.

All in all, the HTC EVO View 4G is an interesting device at this price. The tablet is equipped with a 1.5 GHz single core processor and packs 1 GB of RAM, 32 GB of internal memory and microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB).

The 7-inch LCD capacitive touchscreen boasts 600 x 1024 pixels resolution and 16 million colors support. It is also worth mentioning that the tablet comes pre-loaded with HTC Sense user interface and handwriting support.

On the back, the tablet sports a 5-megapixel camera with autofocus, which on the front there’s a secondary 1.3-megapixel camera for video calls.
