14 DAY TRIAL // Palm has announced the availability of its Palm Centro smartphone for Sprint in two new soft-touch colors, namely Olive green and Vibrant rose. Also, the new Centros will offer users twice the storage space, Facebook for Palm, and Google Maps with the My Location feature, all this at a special holiday price that goes as low as $79.99. The company touts this offer as being the perfect holiday gift.
"We're seeing fashion designers gravitate toward olive and rose tones, as forecasted in the PANTONE Fashion Color Reports for Fall 2008 and Spring 2009," the Executive Director of the Pantone Color Institute, Leatrice Eiseman, said. "Olive green and Vibrant rose are both strong fashion colors, offering a sense of sophistication and elegance. These hues are classic colors, with the longevity to translate from season to season."
The smartphone presents users with a 1.3 MP, 1280 x 1024 pixel, video recording camera, an MP3 player, together with the 128MB of internal memory and the possibility of adding up to 4GB more with a microSD card. Users will also be able to watch Sprint TV channels, such as CNN mobile, FOX Sports, The Weather Channel and Disney Channel, and more.
The two new Palm Centro smartphones in Olive green and Vibrant rose will be available starting October 19 in retail locations, and beginning November 2 in Sprint Stores, consumer and business sales channels, as well as on Sprint's website and the Palm Store. The promotional price will be as low as $79.99, with a two-year agreement and after a $100 mail-in rebate, while for an additional $25 or more, the phones will be available with the data add-on Everything plan. The promotion lasts until January 10, 2009.
