Report says former reality star is broke and thousands of dollars in debt

A while back, former tabloid fixtures Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt revealed that they were broke and living in his parents’ home. Not only are they broke, but they are actually seriously in debt as well, it has emerged.

Us Weekly claims to have it on good authority that the twosome (and Spencer, in particular) were so busy spending their money they hardly recalled they also had bills to pay.

Because of this, Spencer owes a lot of money to his own agent, who won’t even pick up his calls now until he pays off his debts.

“A source tells the new Us Weekly that Heidi Montag’s hubby, 28, still owes his agency ‘hundreds of thousands of dollars in commissions’ from the millions he and Montag, 25, earned during their run on the MTV reality series,” the magazine writes.

This wouldn’t be so bad if Spencer had the means to pay off the debts – but he doesn’t, because he can’t get work.

On one hand, his agent refuses to look for jobs for him until he pays off his debts while, on the other, interest in him is rapidly declining, so whatever job he might still get would probably not pay that well.

For the time being, Spencer is trying to get his agent to work with him again, calling him “up to 30 times a day.”

It doesn’t seem to be helping his case, though.

“They just laugh at him or pick up and hang up,” the source says of how the agent and his staff react to Spencer’s frequent phone calls.

In the aforementioned interview in which they came clean about being broke – though they made millions during their time on MTV’s “The Hills” – Heidi and Spencer also owned up to being fake.

Their divorce and certain aspects of their relationship had all been staged for the sake of publicity, they said, as we also noted at the time.
