Nvimium Games Inc has announced that the Space Empires franchise has arrived on social network Facebook, under the name Battle for Supremacy. The game is described as being a social role playing game that is set in a galaxy plagued by war, where players will need to control star systems and fleets in order to dominate other players. The company says that their aim is to create an experience that can be interesting to both long time hardcore Space Empires fans and to science fiction lovers who have an interest in social powered video games. The first game in the series was launched in 1993.

The features announced for Space Empires: Battle for Supremacy include a huge galaxy that can be explored and conquered, with 100 solar systems, each containing 15 different planes. Each faction will need to harvest resources and build structures on the planets they own. Research facilities are used to generate points that can then be used to get improvements and upgrades.

Once battle is engaged the player will get to control a Command Ship and three Class I war Ships that they can use to destroy the fleets of their enemies, with the result determined by upgrades and by tactical acumen. The Facebook Space Empires will rate players in four areas: military strength, empire dominance, racial superiority and crop mastery.

Matt Abrams, who is the Chief Executive Officer at Nvinium Games, stated, “Launching a Facebook game of this magnitude has certainly been a challenge, but I am extremely proud of what we have built. Space Empires: Battle for Supremacy is an experience that can be enjoyed by everyone, from hardcore Space Empires fans and Sci-fi enthusiasts to the casual Facebook user. Bridging the gaps between these types of players has been our biggest goal, and we simply cannot wait to see all types of players embark on this journey together.”
