14 DAY TRIAL // While Kim Kardashian still insists any swelling noticeable in her lips is the effect of the flu and not of fillers, singer, model and actress Sophie Monk is more honest about it: she had fillers injected in them and she’s sorry she did it.
Monk, who announced her engagement to businessman Jimmy Esebag earlier this week, confirms rumors that have been around for many months: she did have injections to make her lips fuller.
Still, that isn’t to say she’s addicted to plastic surgery like speculation would have it, she says in a recent interview cited by the Daily Mail.
Moreover, the only reason why she got fillers is because she had surgery to remove a cyst before and her doctor told her it would help make her lips proportionate again.
It’s only now that she can appreciate that she shouldn’t have trusted the doctor so blindly, she says.
“Half of my lip was removed with the cyst, and I was advised to get filler in my top lip to help balance it out. I should have said no to the filler in the first place but I trusted the doctor,” the star reveals in the aforementioned interview.
However, from that to hearing what people say about her, about how many procedures she had (including one for breast enlargement) and how she ruined her face and body, is a long way to go.
None of that is true, she insists.
“I’m so sick of people saying that just because of my lips, I’ve had surgery everywhere,” she says.
The only thing that has been said about her and is true is that she doesn’t have quite a very healthy relationship with food, Monk adds.
“The stress of this business tends to come out through my body. Either I eat too much or I eat nothing. I need to be more responsible for my body,” she explains.
In the same interview, Monk also reveals she’s aware of the things people are saying about her and her fiancé, and particularly about the age difference between them, but she doesn’t care – she knows better than anyone else how things stand.
