26 years after creating the personal mobile music lifestyle, Sony tries again to redefine music listening with the new A-series. Encased in a frameless Organic Electroluminescence (OEL) display, the Walkman has an ergonomic and stylish design.

With the built-in "Artist Link" function, the NW-A3000 and NW-A1000 customize one's personal music taste during a music playback. With one touch, the player will launch a search for similar artists stored inside and list the songs comparable to the music style.

Similar to the "Artist Link", the NW-A600 series randomly plays equivalent artists with "Artist Link Shuffle". In "My Favorite Shuffle", the Walkman plays the top 100 most popular songs in the player selected by an in-built rating system. By choosing "Time Machine Shuffle", the Walkman picks a year and randomly plays all available songs from that year.

In addition, sports people have features like "Sports Shuffle" and a built-in FM tuner. The "Sports Shuffle" can be programmed to an intended workout time and the music will stop once the session ends.

Moreover, the new ConnectPlayer software increases the user's experience of managing a music library with a "drag and drop" function for fast and easy transfer of music files between library and player.

"The new Walkman reinvents the way people listen to music. This digital music player does not only play music but it actually understands and adapts to the user's taste in music by customizing the songs in the player to suit the individual's mood", said Ikeda Shinichiro, General Manager of Personal Audio, Sony Marketing.
