Good news for Sony fans in India, as the Japanese company has just announced the immediate availability of Xperia SP in the country.

The smartphone has been recently introduced in the UK and is now available for pre-order, but according to some third-party retailers it won’t hit shelves until May.

Luckily, customers in India will be able to purchase the Xperia SP for Rs 25,490 outright, which is about $470 or €360.

The smartphone is available in both black and white color options from Indian retailer Infibeam, while Flipkart has it on pre-order.

According to fonearena, customers who pre-order the Xperia SP via Flipkart with all receive a free premium case worth Rs 1,990 ($37/€28) and a 16GB memory card. Check it out here.

Unfortunately, Infibeam does not offer any freebies with the purchase of Sony Xperia SP, but those who wish to get the phone now can order it here.

The smartphone ships with Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean operating system out of the box and packs a powerful 1.7GHz dual-core processor, which is complemented by an Adreno 320 graphics processing unit and 1GB of RAM.

Another strong point of the Xperia SP is the hyper-vibrant 4.6-inch Mobile BRAVIA Engine 2 display that supports HD (720p) resolution and features Corning Gorilla Glass coating.

Sony Xperia SP features 8GB of internal memory, but only 5.8GB are user available. Fortunately, the phone packs microSD card slot, so users will be able to further expand storage up to 32GB.

The 8-megapixel photo snapper on the back features autofocus, LED flash and full HD (1080p@30fps) video recording. It also sports a front-facing VGA camera for video calls.

Lots of connectivity options have been included in this mid-range Android smartphone, including LTE and HSDPA (42Mbps), as well as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS with GLONASS.
