Sony is rumored to be preparing a rival to Nintendo’s hugely popular Smash Bros. series, which allows some of the most famous characters from PlayStation-exclusive franchises to fight it out one against the other.

Nintendo’s Smash Bros. series impressed legions of its fans by allowing some of the most famous characters from the company’s franchises, from Mario to Zelda or Kirby, to fight it out using all sorts of outlandish powers.

Now, it seems that Sony wants in on this action and tasked its SuperBot Entertainment studio with creating this project, currently under the code name ‘Title Fight’, which was supposed to be a closely guarded secret.

However, thanks to a now-deleted Twitter account of SuperBot’s level designer, Chris Molina, the first actual details have been leaked.

The Twitter account posted several updates, including a screenshot of Twisted Metal character Sweet Tooth from within the game’s development menu, which you can check out above.

This kicked off a round of cyber-investigations on the NeoGAF forums and the Paul Gale Network, which uncovered more details about this ‘Title Fight’ project, still in development at the SuperBot studio.

Among the characters that are now included in the game are obvious choices like God of War’s Kratos or Uncharted’s Nathan Drake, but also more obscure ones like Colonel Mael Radec from Killzone 3 or the Fat Princess from the game with the same name. Retro characters are also present, including Sly Cooper or Parappa the Rapper.

As of yet, however, Sony didn’t comment on this leak, but, considering it owns a huge amount of great characters and franchises, this Smash Bros. game could prove a phenomenal success given the large following of the PlayStation brand.

Expect more details soon enough and, hopefully, a more complete roster of characters that will be able to fight it out with other PlayStation icons in the new fighting game.
