Not exactly fitting the Elite line of gaming products...

If you decided to skip the reading part and see the video first, no, the PS3 Elite doesn't cost $3000 so you can leave your father alone even if he is a successful businessman. Although they're making more fun of the PS3 than anyone has before them, it's not exactly a lie. You can imagine that a silver case doesn't present gamers with a problem, nor does Sony show off saying that it can play CDs at 1080p. Who knows, maybe you'll need that some day.

There are plenty of true parts however:

- the PS3 uses a 28.8 k modem: it's not exactly the speed of light in terms of data transfer - vibration: since Sony messed up with Immersion and had to settle with them on the rumble business only after the console was released, Force Feed-Back controllers aren't such an asset anymore; vibration is so last gen, yet necessary, but they're being ironical; - overheated CPU: no wonder the Pelican Air Flo is out - there's a good buck to make off Sony's mistakes every once in a while.

OK, enough. The only real reason why people are making such a big fuss out of the PS3 is because it's too damned expensive. Had it been let's say... $100 cheaper, things were surely different. But since Sony came up with a not-so-perfect-as-they'd-expect console and stamped with a $600 price tag, all that remains to be done is criticize. Moreover, jokes about the PS3 are funnier than any other gadget jokes, especially when it comes to the Blu-ray.
