Game director says lead programmer Tim Moss 'got carried away'

The lead programmer of God of War 2, Tim Moss talked to Newsweek's N'Gai Croal saying that any God of War following the currently available one would run at 1080p, with an amazing 60 fps. This of course would concern the PS3, but it's a long shot even with the next-gen machine from Sony, with its fancy cell processor. Then, up came the game's director, Cory Barlog, saying that following installments of GoW for the PS3 would see the SIXAXIS' tilt functionality and have rumble support at 1080p.

All of the sudden, Moss (with his 60 fps) rushes to correct Cory's statement, saying that "Cory got a little carried away at the press conference/launch event." I owe him a kick in the balls for that -- thanks for reminding me. [...] I imagine we could make a game that worked at 60fps and 1080p but we might have to make some decisions about the gameplay that we wouldn't really want to live with in, order to achieve it. We are an ambitious team and everyone will be pushing very hard to make something spectacular for the 3rd game."

So let me get this straight: in order to make those 1080p a reality, the team has to work less on gameplay features? More than that, the lead programmer says it's possible, while the director says it can't be done unless you take essential parts out. This whole story sounds like two horses dragging a chariot, each in a separate way than the other. Shall we give them an advice? Try to get along as we'll get another good God of War game, will you!? The first two were, and still are a bomb; I'd hate to see that messed up just like that. Plus, 1800p doesn't make all that much difference.
