After recently unveiling its upcoming Xperia mini and Xperia mini pro Android smartphones and stated that they will be available on the market some time in August, UK carrier O2 has just confirmed that the Xperia mini pro will hit stores in June.

Although O2's release date is way ahead of the official one, the carrier does not have a history with 'Coming Soon' phones that have been repeatedly delayed, which means that the Xperia mini pro is indeed going live next month.

Unless Sony Ericsson decides otherwise and turns the mini pro into an Xperia Play, which has been constantly postponed numerous times in various regions.

Sony Ericsson Xperia mini pro is likely to be available for free with a new two-year agreement or for a certain sum in case customers do not wish to be tied by a long-term contract.

Along with Xperia mini pro, O2 plans to release the Xperia Play in early June, as well as the Huawei G7010 some time next month.

Xperia mini pro has a compact slide-out form factor and comes with a full QWERTY keyboard.

Equipped with a 1 Ghz Qualcomm MSM8255 Snapdragon processor, Xperia mini pro runs Google’s latest Android 2.3 platform.

The smartphone integrates best in class imaging and display technology from Sony, including the mobile BRAVIA engine via the 3-inch LED-backlit LCD capacitive touchscreen with 16 million colors support and 320 x 480 pixels resolution.

In addition, the phone provides users with full support for HD video recording thanks to the 5-megapixel main camera with LED flash, autofocus, image stabilization, as well as smile and face detection.

The device also comes with a secondary VGA front-facing camera for video calls and support for HSDPA (7.2Mbps) and HSUPA (5.76Mbps).

Pre-loaded with Office suite and antivirus software, Xperia mini pro allows users to easily manage files and documents while on the go.
