Japanese-Swedish mobile phone maker Sony Ericsson is getting ready to release on the market its second Xperia handset that runs under Microsoft's Windows Mobile operating system, the Xperia X2. The device is set to make an appearance on Vodafone's lineup, and the carrier's website is showing now that November is the lucky month for enthusiasts.

The Sony Ericsson Xperia X2, as many of you might already know, has made the headlines quite a few times before, yet nothing official on its availability has been announced until now. However, the handset has been spotted on Vodafone's website before, in the coming soon section, and was also rumored to come to the shelves in October, something that won't happen after all.

The mobile phone carrier touts Xperia X2 as running under the Windows Mobile 6.5 operating system from Microsoft, offering users the possibility to view and edit Microsoft Office Mobile documents and to enjoy powerful multimedia features on the phone's 3.2-inch high-resolution touchscreen display. Moreover, a side-sliding QWERTY keyboard is yet another feature that many people would certainly appreciate.

“Designed for those who always need to be connected, the Sony Ericsson Xperia X2 brings great personal and business experiences into one easy-to-use mobile phone. With specifically designed preloaded Xperia panels and 16 more to download, users can work with no boundaries - and ensure you are kept up-to-date with what matters to you most. With an improved touch interface and new 3D signature panel users can benefit from flexible desktop panels designed to categorise business, fun and communication features,” Vodafone describes the handset.

Other features of the device include an 8.1-megapixel photo snapper, Wi-Fi connectivity, built-in GPS navigation capabilities, MP3 player, Bluetooth, GSM (850/900/1800/1900 MHz) / GPRS / HSDPA connectivity, a battery that can deliver up to 600 minutes of talk time or up to 500 hours of standby time, SMS, MMS and Email capabilities, and more. Unfortunately, no details on the price tag of the device were unveiled, yet we already know that it won't be too cheap. The Sony Ericsson Xperia X2 can be seen on Vodafone's Website here.
