Sony Ericsson Xperia ‘Pureness’ is the only handset that is not a smartphone and which the Japanese-Swedish mobile phone maker has included in its XPERIA series of devices. However, the mobile phone is special in itself, as it is the first device to come to the market with a transparent display, thus deserving the Xperia moniker added to its name.

The joint-venture announced the device officially a while ago, and now it has been seen on the Canadian Sony Ericsson website, which can only suggest that we're to expect a soon-to-come launch in the country. Nothing is yet official, but it might not be too long before the handset is announced as being launched in Canada via one of the carriers in the country.

Even so, the actual release on the market might not come around until 2010 is here. Sony Ericsson is already known to be a little late to the party, when it comes to launching its new devices, and the stylish candybar phone won't be an exception. However, Canadian mobile phone users should keep an eye on the news, for it might not be too long before the device arrives on shelves.

The one thing that is certain about the Pureness is that it has the looks, though its exterior appearance is not everything, that's for sure. In addition, users will be able to enjoy a 1.8-inch TFT display, which is not only transparent, but also scratch-resistant, as well as FM Radio, Bluetooth connectivity, or support for Exchange ActiveSync.

Moreover, other specifications of the handset include 3G connectivity with HSPA support, USB port, NetFront web browser, 88MB of internal memory, expansion slot, and other more. No exact details on the price tag of the handset emerged at the moment, yet it is expected to arrive in Europe for around 600 euros, so it might be priced about the same across the ocean.
