200 special guests will attend the event

Sony Ericsson is preparing for a live Jamiroquai concert, that is a little bit out of the ordinary to say the least, seeing as it will take place at about 35,000 feet above the ground.

"No one has ever done a gig like this before! Rock and roll is all about pushing back the boundaries and Gig in the Sky certainly does that. With this event, Sony Ericsson is taking the music experience to a whole new level", Jamiroquai said.

And he is totally right because Sony Ericsson is planning to customize a specially chartered plane for this event, removing all the seats in order to create a stage where the famous band will perform hits like Virtual Insanity, Cosmic Girls and the more recently released Runaway.

The 200 special guests will be taken to Munich airport on the day of the concert and board the plane together. After the concert has ended, the plane will eventually be landing at a secret location in Europe where a luxury after party and another live Jamiroquai concert is to take place.

The "Gig in the Sky" will start Tuesday, the 27th of February and Sony Ericsson customers that don't get to participate will still be able to 'attend in spirit' through an exclusive download that will be available for the Walkman music phone later this year.

On top of that, this event might also end up in the record books as the world's 'Highest Ever Concert', and an official Guinness World Record adjudicator will be present in order to judge the attempt. This huge campaign will probably continue the success of Sony Ericsson's launch of the newest range of Walkman music phones, including the W710, W850 and W950.
