Only a limited edition

The walkman mobile W980, released in the first quarter of this year, is back in the spotlight. While the offer includes the same device, it also brings a very important “improvement” called Mylene Farmer. The entire album “Stitches” will be included on a limited edition, counting only 2,000 copies of the walkman phone.

Just in case your memory needs refreshing, the W980 is a device that was designed specifically to keep you entertained, and mostly through music, as the walkman name implies. Also, thanks to its beautiful lines and excellent audio features, it has become a top of the line mobile in its class.

“The W980 Walkman phone really sets a new standard for music on your phone. [...] We wanted to design a leading music player that we could combine with a feature-packed phone, all the while pioneering an audio experience that always left you wanting more. The W980 will surpass all expectations.” Head of Music Marketing for Sony Ericsson, Ben Padley, declared at the time of the release.

Given the fact that music is the main quality of this Sony, nine months after its release, a new feature was included to turn the customers' attention back to it. In other words, as you have probably guessed it already, it’s the inclusion of Mylene Farmer's album “Stitches” on the limited edition of the device, which could turn out to be a well-thought move on behalf of the Swedish-Japanese manufacturer. Also, as a bonus, a few extra remixes of the “Call My Number” and “Degeneration” tracks are also included, to update a bit, if possible, this album.

Furthermore, wallpapers, ringtones and a making-of video was also added. What’s most important, however, is that all these changes have not cast a single trace of shadow on the capabilities of the device at all. On top of that, now, the sharing applications that the W980 uses can bring you or your friends even more entertainment.

Should you seriously consider this new arrival a potential “winner” to be put down on your shopping list, you must first make sure you will get one of the 2,000 special copies. Also know that only Studio SFR will be commercializing these walkman devices, starting December 12.
