Through such unveilings and events, Sony Ericsson is demonstrating why it is the one of the most appreciated and respected mobile manufacturers in the world, and most importantly, why it is also the sales market leader in areas such as 2G and 3G devices.

In any case, Sony has surely made most of its 195 million subscribers happy by announcing that it is going to create the world's first 21MB/s mobile broadband network, thus increasing the downlink speed for a mobile network to an almost shocking figure.

This time, Ericsson has chosen Scandinavia's mobile operator 3, and is currently working on upgrading its HSPA network to the previously mentioned speed of 21Mb/s. This “flash” connection will be available for almost all Internet services, which means that Scandinavian customers will be enjoying much faster and more appealing broadband services and applications.

Peder Ramel, CEO of 3 Scandinavia, had this to say regarding this new development, as well as his company’s contribution: "We were the first to launch Turbo 3G in the Nordic region and now we are proud to be one of the first operators in the world to offer a speed of 21Mbps. Ericsson's leading technology will help us boost competitiveness and reach our goal of bringing high-quality communications to our customers."

"With the upgrade to 21Mbps, 3 is one of the first operators to offer customers new and richer services at this speed. We are proud to contribute to 3's great ambition to launch high-speed mobile broadband services in Scandinavia." Mikael Backstrom, Ericsson's President for the Nordic and Baltic region, added.

As you probably guessed, this upgrade will be available only in the already selected parts of Sweden and Denmark, with Sony promising to further develop this technology, thus creating even faster broadband networks starting late next year.
