Sony Ericsson will soon enlarge its (already large) family of Walkman phones, with a new model, the Sony Ericsson W595, also known under the codename of Sony Ericsson Linda.

The W595 apparently comes as a successor of W580 - the slider released back in July 2007. The new W595 is also a slider and its design seems to be a mix between the W580 and the C905 Cyber-shot flagship, announced by Sony Ericsson last month.

First spotted on the French website Le Journal du Geek, W595 should bring the following features: Walkman player 3, FM radio, Google Maps (maybe GPS, too?) and a 3D accelerometer - all running on Sony Ericsson's A2 software platform. The display of W595 seems to be a bit bigger than the one of the W580, hence it probably has at least 2.2 inches (plus 240 x 320 pixels, of course). W595's dimensions are not known, but the new slider looks slightly larger than the W580 (which, when closed, measures 99 x 47 x 14 millimeters).

The W580, which the W595 seems to be ready to replace, is one of the most successful slider from Sony Ericsson, being released in no less than six color versions: black, white, gray, pink, red and jungle green. Knowing this, the new W595 will probably be available in lots of colors, too.

With the rest of the features packed in W595, the phone will most probably rehash the success of W580 - or at least a part of it.

No word yet on the price or commercial availability of Sony Ericsson W595, but he Swedish-Japanese company should announce the new Walkman phone this month (July), so let's wait and see if the handset is as cool as it seems to be judging by the leaked images.
