Sony Ericsson W580i has finally arrived on the US market, through AT&T's offer. The phone is one of the most fun to use media devices out there, with a unique and amusing "shake" function for handling playlists.

The fact that Sony Ericsson W580i responds to the user's hand movements is probably one of the most appealing features about it. The phone is a true Walkman handset coming from this producer, capable of rendering music files at great quality. What it holds in plus, over most other similar devices, is the "shake" function, that makes handling playlists fun.

The phone also takes great interest in its user's health. It's commonly known that many people enjoy listening to music while running. Because of this, Sony Ericsson W580i comes to help them through a pedometer, stopwatch and calorie counter, to encourage a healthy life.

The phone will hit the US market, after receiving a serious drawback in its release up to this point. Many keypads on the device have cracked, making it look like a cheap handset, despite its impressive features. Sony Ericsson has worked on the problem and is now releasing the phone in a shape that leaves aside all previous issues.

The producer is now confident in their product's new release. "Already, the W580i has received rave reviews for the all-around high quality of its design, ease of use and Shake Control, which is an effortless way to control and play your music. With nationwide availability through AT&T and other retailers, music lovers today have an affordable way to enjoy their music on the go, but can also take advantage of the phone's high-quality camera, fitness and multimedia features", said Karen Morris, Head of Marketing for Sony Ericsson Mobile Communications, North America.

Other specifications for the mobile phone also include Bluetooth and USB connectivity. It can also handle emails and shoot average quality images with its 2 megapixel camera. Moreover, it includes an FM radio, as well as GPRS and EDGE data transfers, although 3G would have been great for a Walkman phone.

Sony Ericsson W580i will be available at AT&T from now on, although the operator has not mentioned anything about the release date and the price.
