Called Precious Gold

Sony Ericsson T650, released back in August 2007, comes now in a Precious Gold special luxury edition, with a scratch-resistant mineral glass display encased in a 24 carat gold plating. The handset's body is colored in pink, so it makes an interesting combination with the gold, but one that mostly appeals girls or women. Well, the handset was announced from the beginning as a fashion phone and is already available in three colors: Midnight Blue, Growing Green, and Eclipse Black. The Luxury Edition, though, is clearly targeted for users who want exclusive handsets and do not really care about how much money they give away for this.

Aside from the gold and pink dressing and the mineral glass display, Sony Ericsson T650 remains the same high-end featured tri-band 900 / 1800 / 1900 WCDMA 2100 mobile phone. At only 104 x 46 x 12.5 millimeters and 95 grams, the handset packs a nice 3.15 Megapixel camera with Auto focus, video (QCIF) and flash, Media Player, Bluetooth, FM radio and memory expansion slot. The Precious Gold edition brings some special inside features too, like special Valentine's Day wallpapers and themes.

Unfortunately, the luxury edition of Sony Ericsson T650 is only available in Middle East and North Africa, and it looks like it won't be launched for the rest of the world. "The new Sony Ericsson T650i in Precious Gold will appeal to those who appreciate the finer things in life," said Elie Otaki, Marketing Manager of Sony Ericsson Middle East and North Africa. "Our decision to create a phone with real gold plating and rose-colored casing evolved from a consumer's request for a mobile that was like a piece of her jewelery - glamorous, expensive and exquisite in quality."

The original Sony Ericsson T650 comes for a retail price of about $500, so the Precious Gold edition will probably come for $1000 or something like that. If you think it's much, then the phone is surely not for you.
