Sony has shown off the cover art for its new God of War video game for the PlayStation Portable, called Ghost of Sparta, which is set to arrive on November 2, also offering information on a new bundle that comes complete with a very good looking version of the PSP handheld.

The new God of War video game, the second to arrive on the PSP, is set to take the player back to Kratos' origins, when he was God of War, and detail the fate of the lost continent of Atlantis.

The main characters will face characters like the sea monster Scylla and the fabled King Midas with his golden touch.

Ghost of Sparta will be offering new weapons, new combat movies and new magic attacks that players can combine in the fast flowing combat that has become a trademark for the God of War series.

Those who want more than the standard game can visit their favorite retailer and pick up the newly announced God of War: Ghost of Sparta Entertainment Pack, which comes packed with a host of bonuses that appeal to long time fans of the series and to those who want a good looking new PlayStation Portable to use.

The package includes:

- a PSP-3000 model, the most advanced besides the disgraced Go version, which comes in a mix of black and red that are closely associated with God of War; - the UMD version of God of War: Ghost of Sparta; - a game voucher that can be used on the PlayStation Network to obtain the other God of War video game for the PSP, Chains of Olympus, telling the story of how Kratos served the Gods before his rebellion; - a UMD version of Kick Ass, a recent action movie based on an acclaimed comic book that has violence levels approaching those seen in the God of War series; - a 2 GB memory stick.
