Video game publisher Sony has announced a new video game promotion linked to its PlayStation Network service, which will mean that exclusive titles are being launched during every week of October.

The new promotion is called “Only On PlayStation Network” and is designed to attract more users to the service and promote a range of indie titles that would otherwise lack exposure.

Today Sony launches Rochard from Recoil Games and Eufloria, from Alex May, Rudolf Kremers and Brian Grainger.

A number of PlayStation 2 classic titles will also be launched on the PSN, including: God Hand from Clover Studio, Maximo: Ghosts to Glory from Capcom, Konami's Ring of Red and GrimGrimoire and Odin Sphere from Vanillaware.

They will be priced at 9.99 dollars for players in the United States and 7.99 Euros.

During the coming week the exclusive launch program will include Sideway: New York and Sodium Collection from Playbrains.

The week of October 18 will witness the launch of Hand Circus' Okabu and Ratloop Asia's Rocketbirds, a sidescrolling action game.

The final week of “Only On PlayStation Network” allows gamers to pick up InFamous: Festival of Blood from Sucker Punch and PixelJunk Sidescroller from Q-Games.

Prices have not been announced for the games included in the promotion but Sony has said that all those who subscribe to the PlayStation Plus service will get a 20 percent discount and that all those who spend at least 60 dollars on PSN games during October will get a 10 dollar credit during the next month.

Two of the games in the new program, Okabu and Eufloria, have been created using money from Pub Fund program, which Sony uses to fund indie game development for the PlayStation 3.

The fund was recently supplemented by about 20 million dollars as the company aims to match the success of the Microsoft Xbox Live indie efforts.
